For the ribbon loop (closure):
- Insert the knotted ribbon loop from the inside of the journal through the middle spine hole to the outside. This loop wraps around your journal to keep it securely closed.
For the inner ribbon (refill holder):
- Take the loose inner ribbon and thread both ends through the top two holes on the spine from the outside to the inside.
- Inside the journal, find the end that came through the bottom of the top two holes.
- Thread it out through the upper of the bottom two holes, then back in through the lowest hole.
- You should now have both ribbon ends coming through the very top and very bottom holes on the inside.
- Tie the ends together inside the journal to secure the ribbon.
This creates a flexible band inside your journal to hold your paper refills in place.
The ribbon loop is pre-knotted and used to close your journal. It’s installed through the middle spine hole from the inside out.
The inner ribbons are slightly longer and come untied, allowing you to attach them yourself inside the leather cover to hold your paper refills. Each inner ribbon provides space for up to two refills.
